Faced with continued growth at the Texas Medical Center, TECO leadership asks themselves “what’s next?”. This presentation will focus on new 2020 initiatives implemented at TECO to continually improve operational excellence at this 120,000-ton district energy plant while maintaining their historical reliability and resiliency. Continuing to be able to produce 100% of their power with their combined heat and power systems was a priority. Details will be provided on the means and methods implemented at TECO to reduce peak demand and usage through new efficient chiller staging and condenser system optimization.
