The Evolution of District Energy

10-31-2023 10:20

Session Abstract

The TEES (Thermal Energy Exchange and Storage) District Energy Systems are anchored by CHP cogeneration which is designed to follow the electrical load demands.  Meeting the project’s heat loads is accomplished by collecting, storing and delivering waste heat from the CHP or other alternative energy sources.  The TEES DES operates as a Thermal Microgrid to provide optimized heat and cool thermal services simultaneously. The presentation will walk through the TEES District Energy System Characteristics, System Design, and Modelling Tools. The information to be provided is based on the Southwoods Village project that has operated for 3 years and others that are currently being built.
