Session Abstract

A growing number of institutions are evolving to 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation district heating to enable integration of waste heat and renewable energy.   How far is far enough?  In this presentation we explore district energy expansion strategy at UBC Okanagan and the technical and economic rationale for innovative low and medium temperature temperature heat recovery and redistribution to address the carbon emissions reduction mandate.
