NAIT has developed a Master Energy Strategy to guide the modernization and renewal of energy infrastructure as the campus expands through to 2050. This session will cover how NAIT has charted a cost-effective pathway to electrification, through a geo-exchange district energy system enabled by community partnerships. Resilient and low-carbon electricity is pursued through distributed generation and microgrids, while NAIT’s core mission as a polytechnic is underscored through hands-on training and research opportunities leveraging that infrastructure.
