Bjarne Munk Jensen has more than 20 years of experience from power and heating utilities in Denmark. Since 2006, Bjarne has served as the CEO of AffaldVarme Aarhus, a public utility responsible for management and processing of waste and for the supply of district heating to inhabitants in Aarhus Municipality and several neighbouring municipalities. AffaldVarme Aarhus operates a number of facilities within waste, recycling and district heating. AffaldVarme Aarhus serves 220.000+ customers, has 400+ employees, and a USD 450 mio. turnover. Previously, Bjarne served as Head of Waste Management at the City of Aarhus and Head of Division at the regional power supplier, Midtjysk Elforsyning. Bjarne Munk Jensen is a Board Member at the Danish District Heating Association, since 2007 and holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Aarhus University School of Engineering, and before that Apprenticeship as Electrician.
