To properly decommission industrial facility, owners must employ a methodical, engineered approach. Electrical, mechanical, structural and environmental systems must all be evaluated and end-of-life conditions defined. For a site with a CHP plant whose assets will be reused, the added complexity of elements like high voltage distribution, auxiliary systems (water, steam, lube oil, etc.), utility interconnections and equipment preservation/handling mandate an even more diligent approach. This presentation will walk the audience through the decommissioning process for CHP plants that will be relocated. The focus will be on specific planning and execution challenges and real world solutions.
