Modernizing and Decarbonizing Within the Confines of a Century-Old Plant

09-28-2023 10:22

Session Abstract

In past years, Ever-green Energy has presented plans to convert Duluth’s nearly 100 year-old steam system to hot water.  The main heating hot water system has now been installed and provided the first winter of service.  There were many challenges and intricacies to installing the hot water equipment- like keeping the plant online without disruption while squeezing in equipment into an extremely tight space. The final product included the collaboration of three distinct project areas.   This presentation will discuss the challenges, solutions and lessons learned.
