Oil-free Turbo Compressor Technology in Symbiosis District Energy Systems

09-28-2023 10:43

Session Abstract

Optimal efficiency heat pumps applied in district energy systems are ones which benefit the system in terms of both the possible cooling and heat recovery. Ringsted district heating utility is the 1st known application of oil-free turbo compressor technology in one of these applications. These water-water heat pumps are cooling the drives for larger 7MW ammonia air-water heat pumps, the heat plant equipment room, reciprocating engine jacket water and flue gas from straw boiler heat generation also onsite. All recovered heat is boosted through the heat pumps to supply to the district heating system.Full case study is not available yet; will be completed for this event. Attaching slide with installation pictures and system summary.
