On February 20, 2020, Senator Stern (D-CA) introduced Senate Bill 1215, which would establish the Local Government Deenergization Event Resiliency Fund. The bill would also require Cal Office of Emergency Services to create and manage a statewide database of critical facilities and infrastructure, with an emphasis on identifying projects that will serve high fire threat districts and disadvantaged communities. Additionally, the bill authorizes IOUs to make investments in distribution infrastructure to support microgrids.
