Vanderbilt and AEI studied and are now implementing a centralization of their cooling system and conversion of campus from steam to hot water. The study involved evaluation of refurbishment of cogeneration, provision of centralized heat recovery and other technologies. The implementation will support Vanderbilt’s $1.5 Billion capital campaign with a resilient, reliable, efficient and sustainable new plant that will provide 14,000 tons of cooling, 160 MMBtu of heating and 70 MVA of power for campus.
