Clay Nesler is the Vice President, Global Energy and Sustainability for Johnson Controls. He also serves as interim president of the Alliance to Save Energy. Since joining Johnson Controls in 1983, Clay has held a variety of leadership positions in research, product development, marketing, strategy, manufacturing, sustainability and regulatory affairs in both the United States and Europe. Clay received BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a co-inventor on twelve patents.
Tyler Smith is Vice Products, Specialty Products, Global Controls Products for Johnson Controls’ Global Products business unit. Tyler has spent over 15 years with Johnson Controls in roles focused on leveraging building management systems and HVAC equipment to drive important outcomes such as improvements energy efficiency and indoor air quality. Since early 2018 Tyler has led Johnson Controls’ Critical Environments business unit, which designs and manufactures systems for critical spaces such as hospitals and laboratories. Beginning in spring of 2020, Tyler has been instrumental in leading Johnson Controls’ COVID-19 response, with a focus on helping our customers open and operate healthy buildings.
Russell Garcia is the Director for Higher Education for Johnson Controls in North America. Russell has been with Johnson Controls since 2007, and has had many roles including PACE Program Manager, west region manager for State Government, and the ARRA program manager. In his current role, Russell is responsible for Higher Education market growth, strategy development, offerings, innovation, digital transformation, and leadership. Russell is currently the co-chair of the Energy Services Coalition in California. He has served as President of NAIOP Sacramento, a Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and as President of the non-profit organization Green Cabinet.
Fawn Staerkel is the Healthcare Director of Strategic Accounts for Johnson Controls, Inc. Fawn’s team leads the overarching strategy of corporate relationship development and alignment, across all Johnson Controls business units, for healthcare strategic accounts. These accounts include most of the large North American healthcare entities and consist of over 2,000 acute care hospitals. Fawn studies Business and Public Relations at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
