Enwave Chicago’s systems experience chronic fouling from untreated river water. Interphase’s ongoing pilot demonstrates the benefits of its technology to reduce systemic fouling and improve heat transfer in water-cooled chillers. The treated condensers achieved approach temperatures below 2°F, while the untreated chillers’ temperatures reached approximately 10°F within 6 weeks. This pilot proves long-term protection against fouling and scale deposits, and immediate heat transfer improvement which translates to lower utility spend and maintenance costs.
