Summary

The adoption of distributed generation has different implications for system owners, utilities, utility customers, and the community. As such, distributed generation can be valued differently by different stakeholders.

This white paper is intended to help states address questions and issues associated with distributed generation valuation and compensation. Differences in each states market expectations, policy priorities, and regulations will result in difference responses. The report highlights some of the issues states are facing, how they are dealing with them, and how distributed generation valuation and compensations are currently being considered.
