Summary

Upgrading existing plants and/or executing previously planned plant’s expansions is a re-occurrence requirement in the industry of District Cooling in this region. This comes down to the progressive nature of most of the developments where it is neither feasible nor practical to install full cooling-loads at projects’ early stages.
DIFC plant recently added 18,000TR as an expansion to an existing running plant. The presentation discusses the design considerations, challenges and lessons learned from this experience.
