This presentation documents the results of two separate chiller plant upgrades at Youngstown State University and University of Akron. Both were retrofitted with air-dirt separation technology as part of campus performance contracts. In both instances significant performance increases occurred. Improvements such as increased tonnage output, improved delta-t, and more are documented. This presentation examines pre-existing conditions at each university, path/logic followed to settle on coalescing air separators, and the technical findings of each.
