Integrated Solution for UTA Microgrid

The University of Texas at Austin campus operates an independent electric grid with various internal power sources and multiple tie points to the municipal utility grid. This grid is intelligently controlled with an approach that allows all benefits of a Smart Grid. A description of UT Austin micro-grid, its components and control functions that make this system unique in achieving high efficiency and reliability levels, the on-going upgrade of such system, and the non-dependence of the Texas grid will be presented.
