Lessons Learned Managing a Critical Steam Load with a new CHP Plant

08-22-2017 15:05

Summary

The DTE Marietta Cogeneration facility began commercial operations in 2015 and supplies critical steam to on-site industrial clients. The facility was designed with system redundancies including HRSG fresh-air firing, back-up boilers, etc. After startup, system controls were adjusted and additional safeguards were included to meet the clients’ critical steam requirements. This presentation will review the lessons learned from the evolution of this steam system, from engineering to operations.
