Summary

This presentation focued on the drivers for energy storage in microgrid development, drawing on case studies of UET’s advanced vanadium flow battery systems (VRB) recently deployed at sites for Los Positas College, Avista Utilities and other military and government customers who are deriving value from the reliability, long-duration and flexibility that VFB energy storage systems offer. The presentation demonstrated how to optimize the stacked benefits of long-duration energy storage, including islanding and blackstart capabilities, to support mission-critical activities.
