08-14-2017 11:13

Summary

Microgrid Pilot Projects in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy are being implemented in NJ and NY to develop resilient infrastructure. We will explore progress to date on the NJ Transit, TransitGrid project, which has received a $400 million federal grant to create a first of its kind linear transit microgrid. We will also be discussing the Hoboken Microgrid project which is proposing to develop a microgrid which provides a shelter in place capability and essential services in an existing high density urban environment. And, lastly we will review the NY Renewing the Energy Vision Energy Prize and how the concepts of microgrids and Distribution Service Platform Providers is being proposed as a key component of the REV process.
