On February 6, 2020, the MRC submitted reply comments to the California PUC in response to comments from the industry on the Track 1 Microgrid and Resiliency Strategies Staff Proposal issued as part of the California PUC proceeding instituted in its Order Instituting Rulemaking Regarding Microgrids Pursuant to Senate Bill 1339. 

In the initial comments, the MRC applauds the Commission's decision to establish separate tracks to facilitate prompt action to help permit rapid deployment of microgrids, but outlines ways in which the Commission could consider additional urgent action to eliminate the most egregious barriers to microgrid deployment on an expedited basis. In the reply comments, the MRC responds to questions raised by other parties involved, as well as reiterate the most significant barriers that could be addressed by the Commission to increase microgrid deployment.
