MSU College View - Rethinking Microgrids

02-20-2020 10:52

Summary

The Mississippi College View Development was a $67 million dollar multi-purpose project complete with student residences, retail, and mixed usage space. The project was the first privatized student residence in the entire state and took a state law to enable it's creation. Working hand in hand with Greystar and the University, the design was changed from a decentralized system with two standby generators, to a centralized system with a cogeneration plant that can provide both heating, cooling, and resiliency in an outage. The system went online in August 2019 and is the first of its kind in the state. The presentation will review the key decisions, financials, and cost savings.
