The University of Florida just finished assessing, documenting, and mapping thousands of underground district energy assets and tied all of the data together into one go-to resource using a Geographical Information System (GIS). Tying 3-D revit models, asset condition assessments and prioritization criteria into a spatially verified GIS allows for powerful analytics and visualization of the University’s district energy systems. The finished product is now used for capital improvement planning, preventive maintenance and emergency preparedness. The presentation will share the techniques and lessons learned in building this powerful tool.
