Policy/Research Associate

  • Depending on experience, this position will lead or support advocacy and education/outreach efforts with federal, state and local governments, agencies and NGO’s while implementing 1-2 grant projects.
  • Act as primary project manager organizing, coordinating industry data and analyses as required, including compiling status reports, white papers or briefing documents and infographics.
  • Monitor and maintain industry data base and related maps and information hubs.
  • Research energy data, facts, and project locations for communications projects and advocacy.
  • Support drafting, designing, posting, and amplifying social media. Support development of press statements, policy advocacy letters and summaries.
  • Oversee and manage the annual District Energy Space reports including administering verifications and awards.
  • Identify and seek new grant and foundation funding opportunities. Develop and submit grant or funding proposals and applications as needed.  Research and identify new programs/services (national and international) to support district energy.
  • As needed, meet with policy offices in Congress and Administration and representing organizational policy priorities. Represent IDEA or its members with global, national, or regional government agencies or related organizations and serve as a professional representative of IDEA with external audiences.
  • Make technical and content edits to website and perform administrative tasks such as member database management and metrics tracking.
