Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider, was presented with the prestigious title of 'CEO of the Year - Energy' at the CEO Middle East Awards. The award was presented in the midst of esteemed guests, business leaders and decision makers from public and private sector on 12th September 2017 at Four Seasons Hotel, Jumeirah.
Ahmad Bin Shafar was bestowed with the honour in recognition of the role played by him in strengthening the district cooling sector in the Middle East, as well as his significant contributions for leading the country towards sustainable development.
“I'm truly honoured to receive this accolade. While the award is a testament of our continuous efforts to adopt best integrated green practices, it also serves as an encouragement to keep moving forward,” said Bin Shafar.

“For more than 14 years, I have strived to provide an impetus to the district cooling industry and I look forward to offering my services to this sector, as well as continue promoting the advantages of adopting this innovative technology in years to come,” concluded Bin Shafar.
