Kempten University in Germany has patented an advanced thermal load prediction method, which is set to greatly benefit the effectiveness of district energy systems.
For district heating networks, overall pipeline lengths of several 100 kilometres are typical, making their operation a significant challenge. A more accurate prediction of future heating loads would allow operators to provide loads more efficiently and climate-friendly and a novel method developed by Kempten University of Applied Sciences is able to significantly increase the precision of thermal load predictions.
