Among the items approved Thursday at the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents' meeting was a project to renovate the heat and power system on the flagship campus and the hiring of a new president for Prairie View A&M University

The regularly scheduled meeting was on the Tarleton State University campus in Stephenville in honor of the 100th anniversary of the System's founding. Tarleton, alongside Texas A&M University, was a founding member of the Texas A&M University System in 1917.

During the meeting, the regents approved a number of items, including a $5.3 million project to renovate the combined heat and power system on the A&M campus in College Station.
