Summary
Finnish utility Helen Ltd has launched an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a plant with a district heat output of 130 MW planned for Tattarisuo, which will run on wood chips and, possibly, recovered fuels.
The EIA will be completed late this summer, Helen said last week.
The potential plant in Tattarisuo could use, in addition to wood chips, recycled fuels produced from fractions containing clean plastics, wood and cardboard, as well as demolition wood. Helen stressed that any recovered fuels used at the plant would not include household biowaste or biowaste of animal origin.
