Dubai, UAE: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling services provider and a member of IDEA, announced that it has signed an agreement to connect its services to the Address Hotel at JBR, Marsa Dubai, with a total capacity of 6,500 Refrigeration Tonnes (RT). Standing tall at a 1,830,000 sq. ft, the 74-storey building serves as a hotel and residences. Empower noted that it will start delivering its district cooling services in July 2019.
“We are committed to providing highly-efficient district cooling services, according to the highest international standards and best practices, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. This supports Dubai’s pioneering role in reducing carbon emissions. We also provide district cooling services to a number of prestigious projects in Dubai, including several projects in the hospitality sector,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
Empower supplies district cooling to approximately 17% of more than 674 hotels in Dubai. The total number of hotels was recently released by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the principal authority for the planning, supervision, development and marketing of tourism in Dubai. Utilizing the company's district cooling systems has resulted in huge energy savings for the booming hotel industry in Dubai-further reaffirming Empower's industry dominance and leading reputation in providing reliable technical solutions.
Empower connects its services to various hotel developments in Dubai, such as W Resort Hotel & Residences, Emerald Palace Kempinski, Burj Al Arab, and The Retreat Palm, located in Palm Jumeirah.
Empower currently operates over 1.34 Million RT, providing environmentally responsible district cooling services to large-scale real estate developments, such as Jumeirah Group, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Business Bay, Dubai Healthcare City, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Palm Jumeirah, Discovery Gardens, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Design District and International Media Production Zone, among others.
