City Council inks agreement to supply low carbon heat to 375 home Castle Park View development
Ambitious plans to build a heat network across central Bristol have received a major boost, after Bristol City Council announced it has agreed its first commercial connection for its expanding Bristol Heat Network.
The council currently provides heat from a number of gas combined heat and power (CHP) units across the city to over 1,000 social housing properties through a network of district heating pipes.
However, the council has ambitious plans to expand the network and offer heat connections to businesses and homes across the city. It yesterday announced it has agreed its first connection with a commercial developer and will provide heat to 375 new homes as part of LinkCity's new Castle Park View housing development.
