Alexander Richter, Think Geoenergy
Summary
Earlier this summer, a contract was signed between the Városüzemeltetö és Fenntartó Kft., the Geotherm Hungary Kft. and the MESZ Mosonmagyaróvár Energia Szolgáltató Kft. about a long-term district heating project.
The aim of the project is to connect a new geothermal heating system to the existing district heating system. The test results of the 2,300 meter deep well were excellent.
The construction of the pipeline and the heat transfer center will start in the fall of this year. The system is expected to start operating in January, 2020. The system will stabilize the energy supply, and will reduce the prices in the city. It will be able to replace 7,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
