Wholly owned by the City of North Vancouver, the award-winning energy utility Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC), has delivered highly sustainable and competitively priced domestic hot water and heat throughout the City since 2003. Reducing community GHG emissions from both residential and commercial buildings as well as providing excellent customer service are the primary objectives of the LEC. By heating the community naturally, the City of North Vancouver can significantly reduce the demand for energy and support both global and local climate action efforts.

Reporting to the LEC Board, the CEO will oversee all aspects of LEC’s operations and will be responsible for the Vision, Business Plan, Operating Budget and Capital Budget of the utility as well as also contributing to the City’s Climate Action Plan. The CEO will oversee a team of six, responsible for the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and administration of LEC’s infrastructure and will act as spokesperson for LEC at local, regional, provincial and national level of government and NGO’s.

The successful candidate will be a visionary, progressive leader with an entrepreneurial spirit that is highly committed to a zero emissions future. The candidate will have a degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience along with a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success leading teams and developing, implementing and managing infrastructure or industrial projects and programs, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Experience in stakeholder management, risk assessment and mitigation, policy and contract negotiations are required as well as superior communication, problem solving and service delivery skills.
