Summary

US energy efficiency and renewables firm Ameresco Inc will design and build an integrated microgrid at a wastewater treatment plant in the Northern California community of McKinleyville.

The company has been selected to incorporate existing diesel generation with a new solar photovoltaic (PV) array and battery storage. Ameresco said it will be in charge of planning, design, procurement, installation and commissioning of the microgrid system, which paired with existing dispatchable generation will enable the wastewater treatment plant to benefit from supplemental power and achieve grid resilience.
