Summary

To our Ever-Green Energy partners and greater community:

We reach out to you during a pivotal and challenging time for our community. So many individuals and organizations are working tirelessly to help communities stabilize and begin the process of rebuilding. And we know the deeper, more challenging work will be to address the systemic racism and inequities that led us to this moment.

Ever-Green is committed to working collectively with our local and national partners to consider what’s next, to listen, to be part of actionable change, and to dedicate ourselves to a more just and equitable world.

As we consider how we can be part of systemic solutions, we know we must lean into the mission of our organization. This mission centers on providing reliable utility services, but more importantly, helping to reduce carbon and the impacts of climate change on our communities – impacts that disproportionately affect people of color. We know it is critical that we stay focused on addressing climate change and increase our efforts to search for solutions.

To this end, we are moving forward with our scheduled launch of our 2020 Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality program. Colleges have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want to provide support so that campus leaders can continue to move their energy goals forward. Initially launched in 2019, this program helps campuses mobilize beyond traditional energy and carbon studies to work toward implementable solutions to achieve carbon neutrality.

Program Launch
• We will select two schools to receive pro bono planning services from Ever-Green to assess current energy systems and work together to address hurdles to financing, infrastructure prioritization, and provide a practical analysis of near-term and implementable technologies.
More information on the program and the application is available on our website. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 7, 2020.
Upcoming Webinars
• We are also launching a webinar series on Thursday, June 25, 2020. The webinars will focus on our discoveries from the 2019 Roadmap program and how the three schools from this first year of the program are proceeding with their efforts. For more information on the webinars, or to register for the first session, please visit our webinar information page.
Acting on climate change and helping campuses reduce carbon is one way we can continue to support our partners and our mission as we work to address other global inequities and challenges. We will continue to provide updates on this work as it moves forward and hope you will consider sharing the opportunity or applying for your campus.
