Summary
Finland’s Savosolar Oyj has finalised the agreement with French energy group NewHeat SAS for the turn-key delivery of a solar thermal field for district heating in Narbonne, France.
The solar thermal systems builder secured the contract in a tender in which it was selected as the preferred bidder for the supply of two heating plants in France, as announced by the company in early June.
The contract for the Narbonne solar field is worth around EUR 850,000 (USD 1m), Savosolar said.
Spanning some 3,000 square metres (32,292 sq ft), the system will generate heat for sale to a local district heating company.
Works on the delivery will commence in August. In early 2021, the solar thermal plant will be handed over to NewHeat, which will own and operate the system.
Contract negotiations for the delivery of a solar thermal system for the project in the commune of Pons are ongoing, with the parties expecting to strike a deal soon, Savosolar added.
