Eamon Ryan, Minister for the Environment announced that the time had come to start building district heating systems in Ireland, whereby an entire district gets its heat more efficiently from a single het source, as opposed to individual gas or boilers.
To this end, he revealed that he would be tendering this summer for a new agency to carry out extensive district heating works in Dublin.
