Controls Engineer

Oberlin College and Conservatory is conducting a search to fill the position of Controls Engineer, a continuing 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff (A&PS) position.  The Controls Engineer reports to the Assistant Vice President for Campus Energy & Sustainability.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to design, budget, install, commission, operate, maintain, and monitor campus building control systems that follow sequence of operations to ensure the highest performing building standards.  Projects will include new construction, renovations, major maintenance, pneumatic to DDC conversions, modernization of obsolete DDC systems and energy conservation projects. 


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience; degrees in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics and other quantitative sciences are particularly preferred.
  • Capable of Programming Siemens with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve building operating issues, trend data, and provide summary reports to optimize building performance.
  • HVAC Operations/Service Maintenance Experience 
  • Advanced energy management and computer skills.
