German solar developer MaxSolar GmbH has received municipal approval for a 125-MWp solar project in Bavaria that will require investments of over EUR 85 million (USD 89.83m).
Once operational, the solar park is expected to generate electricity enough to supply more than 37,500 households. The power will be fed into the grid operated by Bayernwerke through a substation that MaxSolar will build.
The entire approval process took almost a year and was successfully completed very quickly, the solar developer said. The municipality was impressed by the integrated approach of MaxSolar and the citizens' energy association EGIS eG which is planning to build a local district heating network and charging stations for electric vehicles in addition to the solar park.
