Summary
The energy company Vattenfall, together with Siemens Energy, has commissioned a high-temperature heat pump at its refrigeration plant in Berlin. In future, it will produce around 55 million kWh of heat per year. This will ensure the supply of hot water to around 30,000 Berlin households in summer and heating and hot water to 3,000 households in winter.
The high-temperature heat pump in Vattenfall's cooling centre, which runs on green electricity, is a central component of Germany's largest district cooling network.
