Summary
Danish renewables developer European Energy A/S is on track to complete its Power-to-X plant in Esbjerg that will supply green hydrogen to the Port of Esbjerg in the first half of 2023.
The plant will generate green hydrogen for ships docked in the harbor and for industrial customers in Denmark. In addition, European Energy has signed a contract with DIN Forsyning, under which the surplus heat from the hydrogen production will go into DIN Forsyning’s district heating network. In this way, the Power-to-X plant will supply heat equivalent to 200 households in the area, European Energy said on Thursday.
Claus Nielsen of DIN Forsyning noted that the location of the Power-to-X facility provides for a convenient connection to the district heating system, while the temperature is suitable for the company’s district heating water and there is no need for extra heating.
