Summary
The Ennetsee heating network is a forward-looking project to supply large parts of the Ennetsee area in the canton of Zug with CO2-free heating. The WWZ AG is currently starting the construction of the district heating network in the centre of Rotkreuz. The work will continue until the summer of 2024.
The WWZ (Zug Waterworks company) is expanding the district heating network in Rotkreuz in the area of the Waldetenstrasse, the Meierskappelerstrasse, the Waldeggstrasse and the Buonaserstrasse. According to an announcement by the WWZ AG, the districts will be connected to the existing district heating pipeline in the Waldetenstrasse as part of this work: house connections will be laid and properties will be connected to the heating network, including those belonging to the municipality. The construction work will last until summer 2024.
The district heating is obtained from the waste heat from the waste incineration plant (Kehrichtverbrennungsanlage) in Perlen. The aim is to supply a large number of households, offices and businesses in the Ennetsee area with CO2-free district heating as quickly as possible, in order to reduce dependence on fossil primary energy in the region.
