Summary
A site in the city centre had been identified as a potential location for a new energy centre.
Council-owned land between Trippett Street and Carroll Place off Freetown way is currently used as a short-stay car park. However, it's destined to become a vital part of an ambitious new £20m project to create the first phase of a new district heating network in Hull.
Under the project, heated water will be pumped via a network of underground pipes connected to a number of buildings in the city centre. The water will initially be heated by a single energy source where it will eventually return via a loop system.
