GE and Aksa Energy, the largest publicly listed global power producer headquartered in Türkiye, announced the signature of the contract for the supply of two highly-efficient GE 6F.03 gas turbines to power Aksa Energy’s new combined heat and power plant in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan.
In addition, GE will provide maintenance services to help ensure long-term availability and reliable operation for the equipment.
Kazakhstan is making progress to improve grid stability and is committed to modernize its power infrastructure as part of Kazakhstan’s announced long-term objective to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.
The country’s ageing power infrastructure has been operating for an average of 40 years, and it is heavily reliant on coal-fired power generation. The new combined heat and power plant in the Kyzylorda region will help address the growing demand for reliable and flexible power, while balancing renewable energy and supporting coal phase out.
