The EUR 17 million contract was signed by Bauwerk Group Hrvatska, a member of Swiss Bauwerk Group, and E.ON Solar, which operates within energy supplier E.ON Hrvatska Group – a subsidiary of Germany-based E.ON. The cogeneration plant in the town of Đurđevac in Croatia’s north, close to the border with Hungary, is planned to be fueled by wood chips from leftovers from the production of parquet.
The envisaged biomass cogeneration facility would be the biggest investment so far by E.ON Hrvatska contracted under a power purchase agreement (PPA). The contract was signed for a period of seven years.
