Last week, TECO was proud to celebrate the career, accomplishments, and retirement of long-time employee Ramaish “Ram” Goonie. Ram holds the record of being TECO’s first employee to achieve 40 years of service, and with an actual 42 years of work, he has been part of TECO for 80% of the company’s history! Ram joined with TECO as a plant operator in 1981, working his way to operations supervisor, energy manager, and ultimately energy director.
Ram’s family joined alongside his coworkers and friends for a festive, Caribbean-themed sendoff. Jason Berrio, vice president of plant operations, presented Ram with an Energy Director Emeritus certificate in recognition of his dedication and exceptional work. In addition, Ram offered some reflections and encouraging words to close out his remarkable career.
TECO is grateful to have counted Ram as part of our team for all these years and sends sincere best wishes for a happy and well-deserved retirement. Congratulations!
