In particular, ENGIE's strategy emphasizes district cooling projects, photovoltaic energy, water desalination plants, and battery storage initiatives. The company is already involved in several projects in the UAE, including the funding of the Al Ajban Solar Photovoltaic plant, which is set to generate 1.5 gigawatts of power. ENGIE has also taken on the responsibility of developing and operating the Mirfa 2 Reverse Osmosis Independent Water Project, valued at USD800 million. This project, with a daily water production capacity of 20 million gallons, is slated to begin operations in 2026, and ENGIE plans to finalize its financial closure and commence construction in the coming weeks.
