Serbia will invest 4 million euro ($4.3 million) in the construction of a biomass heating plant in the eastern municipality of Majdanpek, the government said on Tuesday.
The biomass heating plant will be built as part of a 5.5 million euro project that envisages the reconstruction of the local hot water network and substations, the government said in a press release.
Work on the hot water network and substations is expected to begin in the coming days and is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of the heating season.
The construction of the biomass heating plant is planned to begin in July and to be completed by February 2024.
