Summary
The NGO Geothermal Ukraine, Icelandic engineering firm Verkis hf., and Iceland GeoSurvey (ISOR) recently held an online kick-off meeting for a project that aims to identify and evaluate geothermal direct use projects in Ukraine, specifically in the main western regions of the country including Transcarpathian, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
The work will be a part of the Geothermal Ukraine project, a grant project supported by the Icelandic Sustainable Development Goals Partnership Fund. The main project goal is to identify the most attractive geothermal areas and perform a pre-feasibility study for three types of direct use of geothermal projects – district heating, industrial or tourism use, and combined utilization.
