Energy and waste company HVC announces a first. Thanks to a renewed sludge processing installation and an e-boiler, Dordrecht has the first large heating network in the Netherlands that is completely natural gas-free. With these two sustainable heat sources, the Dordrecht heat network is becoming less and less dependent on heat from waste processing.
The basis for the Dordrecht heat network was laid in 2013. Then the first new homes and the Energiehuis were connected to heat. There is now a main transport pipeline of 32 kilometers through Dordrecht, which is used by 7,500 households and buildings.
