Summary

Torghatten Nord and the hydrogen producer GreenH have signed an agreement on the supply of hydrogen to the new hydrogen ferries, which are scheduled to operate across the Vestfjord from autumn 2025.

In particular, the ferries on the connection Bodø-Moskenes-Værøy-Røst will be operated by Torghatten Nord and run on green hydrogen. The ferry company has now signed an agreement on the supply of green hydrogen with the hydrogen producer GreenH, which extends from 2025 to 2040.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has calculated that the hydrogen ferries together will help to cut 26,500 tonnes of Co2 each year, or the emissions from around 13,000 diesel cars.

The facility will have a capacity of 6-10 tonnes of hydrogen per day, and include facilities for the sale and distribution of oxygen as well as the exchange of heat to the district heating network.
