Bay development infrastructure on road to completion

The infrastructure of Bahrain Bay Development, the $2.5 billion (BD) landmark waterfront community located in the heart of Manama, is nearing completion.

The developer is offering its land parcels to third party developers with fully completed infrastructure including road, water, power, district cooling, sewage, storm drainage, irrigation networks and a telecommunications system.

Planners believe infrastructure is fundamental to any significant development as it helps to shape the urbanisation patterns of the community.

Bahrain Bay believes the strategy offers developers significant time and cost benefits, as well as certainty of supply. They are able to commence projects in the knowledge that infrastructure will not have to be retro-fitted, which often causes delays and cost increases.

Bahrain Bay's infrastructure strategy also means that future residents will benefit from living in a community in which amenities are supported by the latest in infrastructure technology.

The 'Smart City' infrastructure will offer residents an environmentally sustainable community that monitors and manages energy and utility services in the 'most efficient' manner.

For example, Bahrain Bay has created its own district cooling plant, which will deliver energy reduced cost air conditioning to every building in the community.
